Right now there are tons of reports that many teams, the Browns, Raiders, Jaguars etc. prefer Derek Carr to Johnny Manziel. I know that is probably a sin to say that on this website, but I am ready for the hate. Johnny Manziel has a ton of upside, and nobody can refute that, but he is currently fourth on my list of QB's. Chris Sims posted a video over on bleacher report with tape explaining why teams are weary, saying that as of right now Manziel is a second round pick do to the mental aspects of the game. This comment has nothing to do with his maturity, but rather how he reads a defense and his decision making needs work. In the video, Simm's shows how Johnny often passes up wide open receivers for no apparent reasons. He will see a wide open slant vs Alabama with room to spare on the throw, but pulled it down, ran out of the pocket, and chucked up a hail marry, with no need to do so, in heavy traffic, while being tackled. Manziel has a ton of physical talent and upside, but his decision making and mental part of the game leaves much to be desired. Check out the video here.
