Round 7: At the 223rd pick draft S Hakeem Smith.

Summary:

I feel strongly that the Vikings will trade down to gather extra picks. Drafting CJ Mosley will give us a day one starter as well as a leader on the defense. In round 2 I feel like the Redskins will be a good trade partner since they do not have a first round pick. Going up to get Zach Mettenberger will solve our QB problems, and he doesn’t have to start day one. Gabe Jackson and EJ Gaines could push for starting jobs but they don’t necessarily have to be starters. De’Anthony Thomas is a good change of pace. It will give Norv Tuner a player who will be able to catch passes out of the back field. Aaron Lynch will be Mike Zimmer’s Michael Johnson clone to mold the way he sees fit. Antone Exum is coming off of an ACL injury and could be a major steal. Finally, Hakeem Smith is there for depth as well as a good special team’s contributor.
