Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database v7.0

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

It's Saturday, and not only is it alright for fighting, it's also alright for the latest update to our Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database! We've only got a few more of these to go before we get to the real thing, at which point we will get our annual confirmation that, really, nobody knows what the hell they're talking about leading up to the NFL Draft anyway.

We're up to 80 mock drafts this week, and we've had a couple of shifts. Let's take a look at our list of mock drafts for this week, shall we?

EDIT: Drafttek's most recent update is not in chronological order, as I mistakenly did not update it at the time I published the database. However, they projected the same player in the first round for the Vikings (Teddy Bridgewater), so neither of the graphics are affected. My apologies for the error. -Chris

Selections that have a * next to the name come as a result of a trade. Be sure to click the links to those drafts for the full explanation.

The relative distribution of the positions hasn't changed all that much, but some of the names are moving up and down those lists, at one position in particular.

Quarterback is still, by far and away, the most selected position on the board, with 61 of the 80 mocks listed have the Minnesota Vikings selecting a quarterback in Round One of the 2014 NFL Draft. That's a 76.3% selection rate for the position, and we have a new most-selected player at that spot. Louisville quarterback Teddy "Theodore" Bridgewater has re-taken the lead as the most frequently picked player in our database with 20 selections (25%). Last week's leader, Johnny Mondo Delicious Ice Cream Purple Football Manziel, is right behind him with 19 selections (23.8%), and Derek "Baby You Can Drive My" Carr is right behind them with 15 picks (18.8%). Blake Bortles also got a couple more picks this week, as he is now up to 7 selections (8.8%).

The linebackers are still a very distant second with nine selections, or 11.3% of the donut. Khalil Mack moved up a bit this week with four selections (5%), good enough to tie him with Anthony Barr on the list. C.J. Mosley once again has one selection (1.3%) this week. . .he manages to stay on the list every week, but he seems to end up appearing in a different mock each time.

Wide receivers and cornerbacks both ended up with four selections (5%) in this iteration of our database. On the receiver side, Mike Evans held steady with three selections (3.8%), while Sammy Watkins re-appears in this week's database after a two-week absence, clocking in with one selection (1.3%). On the cornerback side, Justin Gilbert continues to hold on to his three selections (3.8%), and Jason Verrett still has one selection (1.3%) as well, but Darqueze Dennard drops out of our database for this week.

Defensive tackles and safeties both stay around for this week, too, as Aaron Donald and Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix each find themselves with one selection (1.3%) on this week's table.

We'll put these into graphic form here, which you can click to embiggen as always. First up, we'll have our donut graph that will put the picks into perspective for this week's database.

And we'll follow that up with the trend graph, which shows how players have fared in our database from week to week. The trends for the quarterbacks have been particularly interesting over these past few weeks.
