The Kansas City Chiefs today I have released cornerback Brandon Flowers. Flowers has 17 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles over his 6 year NFL career. Flowers reportedly did not want to play for Kansas City anymore and it is confirmed that the five foot nine cornerback had trouble covering bigger receivers despite his Pro Bowl season. Although the Vikings have newly found free agent cornerback Captain Munnerlyn as well as a Xavier Rhodes the team certainly understands they can use more depth in the secondary. The question is what cost would Brandon Flowers be worth considering the Vikings are only in the first year rebuilding with a new coaching staff and may not want to get locked into too many big contracts the first year of the new regime. It will be interesting to see which teams has garnered interest for Flowers and how much the Vikings will pursue his talents.
