I am sensitive to the complaints of certain ethnics to the use of demeaning nicknames, specifically "Redskins." My ancestors are Norwegian, and I have long suffered whenever an undistinguished athletic team is called the "Vikings."

Our Vikings were famous for raping and pillaging up and down the seacoast. They did this with a style and energy long remembered. Their reputation should not be besmirched by some athletes who don't always win and may not excell at raping and pillaging.
