Rudolph long-time Viking now

It just came across my Facebook feed, and I thought the community should know that Kyle Rudolph has just signed a five-year extension to stay with the Vikings through the 2019-2020 football season. According to NFL.com, Rudolph's deal is worth $36.5 million over the life of the deal. This gets him an average of $7.3 million per year (ranked 5th at the TE position, according to NFL.com), and he can earn up to $40 million total. His deal is worth $19.4 million in guaranteed money (ranked third amongst TE's).

Rudolph's extension keeps the Vikings' corps of young playmakers together for a long time, and was a good move for the Vikings to make (if maybe a little expensive). Rudolph has been a great receiving TE for the Vikings thus far in his career, and he seems to be on track for a huge season under the guidance of Norv Turner, the offensive guru who has been known to make TE's a focal point of his offense. Congrats to Kyle Rudolph, and may you have a long, productive career with the Vikings!
