Final 53 -- Post Preseason Game 2 Version

Not sure this is how it will play out, but here is what I'd like to see as the roster after watching last night's game. Heavy on defense, but there's more special teams contribution from that side and better competition for certain spots where I see young talent that I'd hate to lose. So:

QB: Cassell, Bridgewater. After watching Ponder's dismal performance against 3rd-stringers last week, I'd rather roll with 2 QBs and sign someone off the street in case of emergency. Ponder's a great guy, but he really doesn't belong in the NFL.

OL: Kalil, Johnson, Sullivan, Fusco, Loadholt, Richardson, Yankey, Berger, Ducasse

TE: Rudolph, Ellison, Reisner. Ford may be more likely, but his injury may doom him. And I've always liked Reisner.

WR: Patterson, Jennings, Wright, Thielen, Smith. I'm okay with saying bye-bye to Simpson. I really like what I've seen from Thielen, and had heard good things about Smith and then he showed me some darned great things during that last drive last night.

RB: Peterson, Asiata, McKinnon. Felton probably makes it, but I take him out here to create a whopping 28 positions on defense.

DL: Griffen, Joseph, Floyd, Robison, Wooton, Crichton, Tom Johnson, Evan, Stephen.

LB: Greenway, Brinkley, Barr, Cole, Watts, Hodges, Mauti. Not sure Mauti is going to make it, but I keep him over Larry Dean.

S: Smith, Blanton, Kurt Coleman, Exum, Sanford. Really liked Sendejo last year, but not sure he's going to make the cut this year.

CB: Munnerlyn, Rhodes, Robinson, Prater, Cox, Price, Sherels. 7 CBs may be pretty heavy, but I think all 7 of these guys are NFL worthy, and it always seems like at some point were using the bottom of the roster due to injuries. And Sherels brings the PR value, of course.

ST: Walsh, Locke, Loeffler

Practice Squad: Kain Colter, Austin Wentworth, Kendall James, Dominique Williams, Isama Faciane, Brandan Bishop, Erik Lora, Zac Kerin.
