You have got to be absolutely freaking kidding me with this. . .
Jerome Simpson, already under a three-game NFL suspension for a DUI arrest last year, is in more trouble.
The Vikings receiver was cited July 7 on charges of marijuana possession, open bottle and violating a limited drivers license, according to Hennepin County Court records.
He has a Nov. 3 court appearance.
ESPN was first to report the news. The team has not issued a comment.
Well, Simpson is going to be serving the final game of his three-game suspension from his last issue with illegal substances, and now it looks like he's going to be in for it again.
At this point, just cut the guy. Seriously. Probably shouldn't have signed him to another one-year contract in the first place. Guys like Adam Thielen and Rodney Smith can fill Simpson's role with the added benefit of not being a complete idiot. It appears Jerome Simpson appears to enjoy getting drunk and/or high more than he enjoys being gainfully employed and receiving a paycheck.
Here's hoping that the Vikings will fulfill his wish.
