Merry Tuesday everyone!

ATTENTION!: Anyone interested in purchasing Arif's training camp guide (I bought it and it is excellent, as you'd expect) can do so right here.

In the land of the DN since our last open thread:

The Vikings are going to be implementing virtual reality technology for the players to use.

Chris had an open thread for day two of training camp.

Coach Zimmer weighs in on what it means to bring Adrian Peterson back to the team.

Eric shares some news and notes from day 2 of training camp.

Eric also has a recap of Monday's training camp, with a photo gallery full of some really awesome pictures.

Norv! Turner thinks Teddy Bridgewater is a top-flight quarterback.

Vikings news from elsewhere:

Coach Zimmer & the staff are aware of the recent rash of pec injuries that have hit the team, and are taking steps to avoid them in the future.

Here are some highlights from Sunday, courtesy of NFL.com.

Coach Zimmer tells Chris Wesseling that AD will be getting a heavy workload this season.

Over at Yahoo sports, Mike Wallace says he's bringing a lot more than a deep game to Minnesota. It really sounds like he wants to become a better person and player, it's encouraging to hear after hearing a great deal of negative things about the man.

The 4 letter network also has a story on the Norv! comments regarding Teddy being a top-flight quarterback.

Around the rest of the league:

From NFL.com, Texans linebacker, Jadeveon Clowney, will start the season on the PUP list.

Panthers OL, Jonathan Martin, who you remember as being the victim in the bullying scandal in Miami involving Richie Incognito, has announced his retirement. He suffered a back injury this off-season, and instead of undergoing surgery, he's decided to retire.

CBS Sports is reporting that the NFL and NFLPA are having talks on a settlement regarding the appeal of Tom Brady's suspension.

The Arizona Cardinals have hired what is believed to be the first female coaching staff person in the NFL, as they hired Jen Welter to be a pre-season/training camp intern. You should read the story, she sounds pretty bad ass.

...Welter, the former collegiate rugby player who played 14 seasons of pro football, mostly in the Women’s Football Alliance, and who was with the Revolution.

Welter also was the first female to play a non-kicking position in a men’s pro football league, spending time at running back and on special teams, for the Revolution in 2014

With that, we come to today's media selection. I heard this on the radio last night, an old song from back in my younger days, so here you go.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion

-No feeding of the trolls

-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)

-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags

-No pictures that could potentially get someone fired or in serious trouble at their place of employment

-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the veal.
