What are the basic principles of dropback pass protection?

A look at the difference between zone and man blocking schemes and how they are implemented. A good look at how the O-line worked the past few years and how they might do things going forward.

Interview with Warren Moon [NEW]

Hey Daily Norseman! It's Max Strauss here. I wonder how many of you remember me... I really hope you do. I'm a high school student (just finished up my junior year, and now I'm on summer break) and I work hard to interview past and current NFL players. I've interviewed other Vikings players, Everett Lindsay, Albert Young, Brian Robison, and Freddie Brown. I really hope you check this interview out!! I'm here today to share an interview with Hall of Fame QB, Warren Moon! Here is the link: I hope it provides some insight to who he is, and maybe gives you a break from all the lockout information. Thank you so much for letting me share. Please share your feedback! -Max Strauss-

Progress being made in secret NFL meetings?

Secrecy abounds with the NFL/NFLPA meetings in Chicago. Is there hope for optimism here? Jerry Jones had this to say: "We can’t make a comment about it at all but we’re trying," Jones said. "We’re trying. I think the fact that we’re meeting is good." My guess is this will continue until the 7th, at which time a statement will be released - hopefully it's a resolution to the matter and we can get on with football.

Herzlich has been working out with Ponder and Rudolph

Could the Vikings become a favorite for Herzlich's services? Working out with Ponder and Rudolph (and now more Vikings) at IMG. And with Mike Singletary coaching the LB's it's got to be an attractive option. Thoughts? "Also here is former Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich, who went undrafted last month. Herzlich said it has been great working out with Ponder and Rudolph, two guys he "hated" to play against in college. Herzlich has already turned down the UFL. He said he has not been contacted by any NFL teams but has 10 to 11 in mind as possible landing spots."

A bit of satire for Minnesota Vikings fans.

An interesting take on our QB

I found this article extremely interesting regarding how Christian Ponder grew to be our number 1 QB.

Getting To Know Joe Webb

Joe Webb is currently working out down at the IMG Football Academy with Christian Ponder under the tutelage of St. Paul native Chris Weinke. IMG did a quick Q and A with him, so click on the link and enjoy.

football field is a dangerous place for everybody

The football field is a dangerous place. And, it turns out, the sidelines are, too. Some of the best collisions have occurred well after the play has ended. The NFL shows video the top 6 SIDELINE HITS.... and they are pretty good! Before looking at the link... Guess which VIKING made the list. Enjoy!
