New Blogs

SBNation's Minnesota Sports Coverage is Complete

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it took a while. . .but now all of Minnesota's professional sports teams have sites here at SBNation with the addition of Canis Hoopus, our new Timberwolves blog.  Yes, not only have the folks at SBNation found anyone willing to actually WATCH Timberwolves' basketball at this point, but they've even found people that are willing to discuss it.

As someone that's followed the Wolves since Tony Campbell was their superstar and they wasted spent their first ever draft pick on Pooh Richardson when Tim Hardaway was RIGHT THERE, I'm happy to see this site come aboard.

In case you've forgotten, your homes for Minnesota professional sports on SBNation (other than here, obviously) are

Twinkie Town for Minnesota Twins baseball
Hockey Wilderness for Minnesota Wild hockey
Canis Hoopus for Minnesota Timberwolves basketball

Just wanted to make sure I got that out there for everyone.  Possibly more later on today.  Until then, keep enjoying your Thursday!

Mock. . .YEAH! Draft. . .YEAH! Here. . .YEAH!

Yeah?  YEAH!

Well, we haven't completed our full complement on NFL blogs. . .still need that Chargers blogger, if anyone knows anyone that might be interested. . .but we're getting something that, in my opinion, is even better.

Welcome aboard Matt Miller and the latest SBNation site, Mocking the Draft.  As the rest of the college football season progresses, Mocking the Draft will have coverage of prospects that will be making the jump to the next level this April.  I also have a sneaking suspicion that it's where the next SBNation Mock Draft will be centralized at.  Just a hunch.

So do yourselves a favor and head over to Mocking the Draft, sign up for an account, and take a look at what they have to offer!

Oh. . .and there's this:

Enjoy your Thursday, folks!

You. . .Complete Me

Yes, folks. . .SBNation now boasts coverage of every single NFC team, as we've found an Arizona Cardinals' blogger.  Tom van Wyhe is the man behind the network's newest blog, Revenge of the Birds, and he'll be bringing SBNation everything you'd ever want to know about football in the desert.

One of Tom's first pieces over on RotB is actually an pretty intriguing story that should be of interest to us Viking fans.  So interesting, in fact, that I'm probably going to take a much closer look at the possibility it presents later on today.  So please, go over and check out Revenge of the Birds. . .great name, and great reading.

Have You Heard the Call of the Wild?

Normally, I don't get crazy about a lot of the blogs that debut here at SBNation.  It's nothing against any of the people that write for said blogs or anything. . .after all, there's no such thing as a "bad" writer or a "bad" site here at SBNation.  It's just that we have most of the teams I follow already covered.

But, in this case, I'm quite willing to make an exception.

In the State of Hockey came online just a couple of days ago, and will be YOUR best source for everything relating to the Minnesota Wild.  So, after a long wait, the team that represents the greatest hockey state in the country finally has a site on the best network of sports blogs in the world.

Between this site, In the State of Hockey, and the folks over at Twinkie Town, SBNation now has all of Minnesota's professional sports teams covered!  Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.

(Yes, I realize there is no SBNation blog for the Timberwolves.  Frankly, I barely consider the Timberwolves to be a professional basketball team, so it's all good.)

And the first big announcement from In the State of Hockey?  The Wild are going to have new uniforms this year!  They'll be available in stores later this week. . .7 September, to be exact.  I can't wait to see them.

So yes, do yourself a favor and head over to In the State of Hockey and check it out!

One Down, Two to Go

Yes, now there are only two NFL teams remaining without a presence on SBNation, as we're happy to welcome Sunil and his new site, Canal Street Chronicles.  It's going to be your home on SBNation for all things Saints.  As the Saints are now the closest team to me geographically (being located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast), it's nice that they finally have a site here on SBNation. . .and if the first couple of posts are any indicator, it's going to be a good one.

That leaves just one team in each conference without SBNation bloggers covering them. . .the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC, and the San Diego Chargers in the AFC.  Hopefully those openings can get filled in sooner rather than later.

And Then There Were Three

Yes, only 3 more NFL blogs to go, thanks to the addition of Black Raven and the folks over at Baltimore Beatdown.  Head on over to the site and check it out!

So this means that the only teams without SBNation blogs are New Orleans, Arizona, and San Diego. . .and at least one of those three is going to be filled very shortly.  Which one?  You'll have to stay tuned to find out.

That's Ted Freakin' Nugent!!

Wait, that's not Ted Nugent. . .that's Cat Scratch Reader, the newest addition to the SBNation NFL family.  CSR will give you any and all the information you need about the Carolina Panthers.  Head on over and check it out!

Only 4 more blogs and SBNation will have the entire NFL covered.  Awesome!

Making Final Approach. . .Gear is Down. . .

Haven't had one of these for a while.  I'd like to give a warm welcome to Mark Risola and his new blog, NY Landing Strip, a blog dedicated to the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!

Mark's addition gives us 4 AFC East blogs, and therefore 4 divisions that have full representation (the AFC South, NFC East, and the beloved NFC North being the others).  In fact SBNation is only 5 teams away from having the entire NFL covered.  We're missing the Panthers, Saints, and Cardinals in the NFC, along with the Chargers and Ravens in the AFC.

But, for now, head on over the Mark's new site and check it out. . .it's the one landing strip you'll find that doesn't involve wax or a razor of some sort!

Let's Get Physical! Physical!

You'll be singing that to yourself all day now, you just watch.

SBNation has expanded once again, this time into the world of physical fitness.  We here at DN would like to welcome Lou Schuler and his new site, Male Pattern Fitness, to the Nation.

As someone who has to stop freebasing Mountain Dew and get up off the couch occasionally (well, more often than I do, anyway), I will be taking a great interest in this site.  Head on over and take a look!

And, don't forget, come back to DN this afternoon after the NFL schedule is announced to see who the Vikings' potential victims will be for the 2007 season.  We're about 2 1/2 hours away from the announcement.

Tatanka Means Buffalo

As the only other member of the NFL's "Hey, we're 0-4 in the Super Bowl, too" club, I'd like to welcome Brian and his new Buffalo Bills blog, Buffalo Rumblings.  I've had a soft spot for the Bills for a while (well, except for the last two times they've played the Vikings, anyway), because they seem to be every bit as snake-bitten as we are.  I'm convinced that if the Bills and Vikings were to meet in the Super Bowl, the game would go to a scoreless tie and, after five overtimes or so, the game would just be called and nobody would be declared the winner.

Don't ask me why I think these things.  I just do.

Having said that, go over and give Brian a warm welcome to SBNation!
