I Just Vomitted in My Own Mouth
I have never, in my life as a sports fan, heard anything as nauseating as today's pregame shows. Why did it take two hours to hear that Favre is almost as close to the all-time interception record as he is to the all-time touchdown record? The best would be if he broke the interception record today, and the Vikings stopped the game to honour the achievement. Seriously, wouldn't that make you proud to be purple?

SKOL VIKINGS!

Vikings get the ball first
Peterson returning kicks again?  I still don't like it.

1st and 10, Vikings, from their own 22 or so.

And I'm loving the throwbacks, too.

Holcomb completely misses Rice
We've taken two shots deep to Sidney Rice so far. . .one looked like it was batted away, and the second one saw Holcomb overthrow him by 5 yards.

Damn it.

1st and 10, Packers, from their own 26 yard line.

0-0, 11:31 left in the first quarter.

Penalty
Did Fox call that one down to the officials?

by NWOntario on Sep 30, 2007 12:13 PM CDT   0 recs

Interception negated
Favre flings one deep to Darren Sharper, but an "illegal contact" penalty on Winfield negates it.

Looked to me like Driver actually grabbed Winfield.  We might have to beat the refs today, too.

Vikings give it away
Holcomb hit Dugan on a nice pass that would have moved the Vikes inside the Green Bay 35, but Dugan fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by Green Bay.

Damn it again.

1st and 10, Packers, from the Minnesota 46 when we get back.

0-0, 6:57 left in the first quarter.

Touchdown, Packers
Captain Overrated hits Greg Jennings for a 16-yard touchdown pass.  Now his stupid record is out of the way.

Now we get to sit through the bullshit ceremony.

7-0, Packers, 4:56 left in the first quarter whenever the NFL sees fit to let the teams play football again.

End of First Quarter
Vikings are driving. . .they've moved to the Green Bay 41 yard line, and will have a 2nd and 9 when we get back.

7-0, Packers after one quarter of play.

And, with that. . .
We punt it away.  Kluwe kills it inside the 5.

The 3rd down play was a deep pass to Williamson in which Al Harris held Williamson's other hand like they were going steady.  No flag, natch.

7-0, Packers, early second quarter.

Three and out for the Pack
3rd and 1, the Packers foolishly try to run and lose about 2 yards.

1st and 10, Vikings, from their own 35 when we get back.

7-0, Packers, 12:45 left until halftime.

Harris
Yea, that was a definte Pass interference no call there otherwise might have been a catch.

by speedlod on Sep 30, 2007 12:52 PM CDT   0 recs

Vikings punt again
Because this team has no idea how to convert a third down.

And the Packers are already in Minnesota territory.

FUMBLE!
Favre hits Donald Lee over the middle and it looks like first and goal for the Pack. . .

BUT

Dwight Smith strips Lee just before he goes down, and Cedric Griffin fields the pop-up.

1st and 10, Vikings, from the Minnesota 8.

7-0, Packers, 7:37 left in the half.

Is it just me or when it seems a call might go againts the Pack the replays are non existant. And when they make a play theres 5 replays back to back.

PETERSON!!
AP runs for 55 yards on 2nd and 5, and now has 9 carries for 100 yards.

Have I mentioned recently that Adrian Peterson is pretty great?  Because he is.

7-3, Packers, 4:18 left until halftime.

Fake punt by Green Bay
And Jon Ryan manages to avoid about 33 different Vikings on his way to the first down.

Packers in 3rd and 11 now, though.

Crosby converts for the Pack
Mason Crosby connects from 44 yards out to make the score 13-6, Packers.

Green Bay scoring drive went 54 yards in 16 plays and took 8:56 off the clock.  Minnesota REALLY needs to put together a sustained drive here to give the D some bench time.

13-6, Packers, 6:04 left in the third quarter.

Longwell with another one
The guy's our friggin' MVP.

49-yarder from #8 cuts the Green Bay lead to 13-9.

Vikings' scoring drive moved 50 yards in 8 plays and took 2:46 to accomplish.

Nice stat by Fox
The Vikings have ZERO touchdowns in their last 18 offensive possessions.

Check that. . .0 for their last 19.

Absolutely, positively pathetic.

Also
That announcers notice that MCarthy made changes so that players can play in his offense.Mentioned also Chilly was a supposed offensive genuis whos offense had 0 tds in 18 possessions.

And more Crosby
Crosby connects from 33 to make the score 16-9, Packers.

BIG return by Peterson
Vikings starting in Green Bay territory. . .

And then, of course, they proceed to lose 9 yards on a reverse that got completely blown up.

3rd and 19 now.

Christ.

Disturbing stat
Adrian Peterson has 11 carries for 108 yards at halftime.

He currently has 12 carries for 112 yards.

For you non-math majors out there, that means he's gotten 1 carry for 4 yards in the second half.

Mind-blowing, isn't it?

And. . .ballgame
Another TD for the Packers.  Someone scored it.  I don't know who, and I don't care.

23-9 Packers, 5:35 left to 1-3.

Wake me up if and when this team gets to the point where they decide to play some fucking offense.

New to this place...
No I'm not a Vikings fan, I am a Packer fan!  I have to say, I've never heard so much whining anywhere at any time...ever.  You guys have no respect for anybody unless he's in purple, no matter how many times he kicks your ass!  You'll lose in Green Bay, too, and bring up the rear of the NFC North this year.  While your running back is pretty good, you have a lot of issues on your team on offense.  You better find a QB who can lead the team, because as you can see (when sober...try it sometime) it really helps to have a superior QB who is smart AND durable, nerves of steel and unafraid...like the MIGHTY FAVRE!

by Muddog on Oct 2, 2007 4:38 AM CDT   0 recs

Look who's talking
"You guys have no respect for anybody unless he's in purple, no matter how many times he kicks your ass!"

Please. . .this coming from a Packer fan?  By God, that's hilarious.

Packer fans crapped all over Fran Tarkenton, they crapped all over Cris Carter, they crapped all over Randy Moss, and they'll probably crap all over Adrian Peterson for the next 10 years, no matter how many 100+ yard, 2+ TD games he lays on them.  And there's going to be a lot of them.

But please, don't come here and talk about being disrespectful to opposing players. . .no team's fans are more disrespectful to opposing players than Green Bay fans are.
