A Belated Congratulations to Anthony Herrera

A couple of weeks ago, Vikings offensive lineman Anthony Herrera officially became a United States citizen.

Herrera, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, has lived in the U.S. since he was 14 years old.  As he turns 28 this June, he's spent over half of his life in the United States.  Coach Brad Childress accompanied Herrera to the ceremony, as none of his family were in town for the big day.

As someone who has seen the process close up. . .Mrs. Gonzo came to me by way of Australia and is going through the process now. . .I know it can be long and drawn out.  But Herrera persisted, much the same as he did while going from an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee to signing a big-money extension with the Vikings last season and being the unquestioned starter at right guard for the Beloved Purple.

So here's to you, Mr. Herrera!  Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishment.

Gday Gonzo...where is your wife from? I am a South Dakota boy originally myself, but I have been living in Melbourne for five years. Tough to see much gridiron at all here, let alone the Vikes specifically (although a new HD digital station is allegedly broadcasting regular NFL games this next season, so that will be cool). Cheers.
