Suppose the ball were handed off to Adrian Peterson, and he just stood in the backfield until he was clobbered?  When asked, he told reporters he was waiting for Hutch to open a hole for him, so had decided to spend some time thinking about whom the Vikings should draft in 2009.  Would he still be your hero?

Vikings fans, wake up!  Don't be more foolish than the fans in Cleveland from 1995.  Don't wait until the horse has left the barn.  The time to act is now.  It will only cost more to get a team back if they are forced to go.  No one wants to play in the Dome.  Save the Vikings now.  Ask not what the Vikings can do for you, ask what you can do for the Vikings.

Some people who call themselves Vikings fans like to sit around and complain about the coaches and the players, then dream endlessly aloud about the people they'd like to see on the field.  

Folks, when there is no field left, this won't mean diddly.  It's a waste of breath.  Use you voice where it counts.

Please permit me to tell you what real fans can do.

They say preseason games are meaningless.  What if you could change that?  

Psychological counselors tell us about the "ouch" principle, which is that when someone steps on your foot and you don't say "ouch", people will walk right over you, without their even knowing they're doing it.  

This doesn't sound like what a "Viking" would do, does it?

Go to the August preseason game against the Seahawks.  When you get bored, start a chant, and
encourage your kids to chant with you. The kick off goes like this:

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
One, two, three...

"This place was built with bubblegum!
Build up a brand new stadium!"  (repeat)

If sixty thousand people were all chanting together on TV, it would make a much better news story than most of the crap they fill in with on slow TV news days.

Let reporters stick microphones in the faces of your politicians and ask them why they won't even listen to a plan to pay for a Viking stadium.  What's next, Vikings fans must ride in the back of the buses?

Why should you sit in a place where the roof would fall in if they opened all of the doors?  Are Twins fans and Gopher fans entitled to more comfort than Viking fans are?

The legislature and the governor are hired by the people.  They are public servants.  Servants don't tell the bosses what to do or what is important.  Why are you letting them?

They're telling the Vikings: don't even come up with a plan for paying for a stadium, because  your interest in improving the largest city in our state is nothing we'd really be interested in.

When there was no bread for the people in France, Marie Antoinette told them to eat cake.  If the French knew how to deal with that crap, why don't you?
