The Tarvaris Jackson era, it has started.
Coach Brad Childress said Monday night during his weekly radio show that he was "mulling" his options about whether to start veteran Brad Johnson or Jackson.
But two people with knowledge of the situation said Monday that Jackson is the Vikings starting quarterback.
Jackson entered the Vikings' 26-13 loss to the New York Jets late in the third quarter, replacing Johnson. He completed 14 of 23 passes for 177 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Johnson was lifted for the second time in three games after completing 10 of 17 passes for 96 yards with a touchdown.
Well, it might be 3 or 4 (or 14) games too late, but we're going to see what the guy has in a real game situation.
I'm very, very happy with this development. Make sure the door doesn't hit Brad Johnson in the ass on the way out.
