The Cuts are Coming. . .Soon

It's that wonderful time of the pre-season where teams around the National Football League have to get their rosters down to 53 players.  The only cuts that have been announced on the Vikings' front are OL's Chris Liewienski and Adam Goldberg, but there will be more as the day goes on.

As far as former Vikings that have been cut, LB Sam Cowart was released by the Houston Texans, K Aaron Elling was cut by Baltimore, and RB Moe Williams met the Turk with the Rams.

In other Vikings' news, the team has signed former Eagles' WR Todd Pinkston to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum.  I'll say the same thing about Pinkston that I said about the Bollinger acquisition. . .he's better than the guys he's displacing on the depth chart.  He's probably the #4 receiver at the moment, and my guess is that Billy McMullen ends up getting cut as a result of this acquisition.  Not an exciting signing, but a good one none the less.

More news on the roster cuts as DN.com gets word of them (by ripping them off from sports web sites around the internet).
