Peterson Named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month

In what should come as a shock to absolutely nobody that's paid even a little bit of attention to the NFL over the past four weeks, 2007 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Adrian Peterson was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month for the month of September.

He becomes only the fourth Vikings player and first offensive player since 1998 to win the award. The seventh-overall pick in the NFL draft last April, Peterson has 383 rushing yards this season, placing him fifth in the league. He has an NFL-leading 549 yards from scrimmage.

So, at the quarter pole, AP is on pace to rush for 1,532 yards and have 2,196 yards from scrimmage all by himself.  Chester Taylor might cut into that a little bit, but I wouldn't think that it would be too much.

Best back to enter the NFL since LaDanian Tomlinson, ladies and gentlemen. . .and he gets to call Minnesota home for the next decade or so.  Isn't it great?
