And, really, there's only one song that truly captures the essence of Thanksgiving, in my opinion.
So, what are some of the things I'm thankful for this year? There are plenty, to be sure, but here are the big ones.
-I'm thankful that I have a beautiful wife and the two greatest puppy dogs in the entire world to come home to every single day.
-I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve my country on a daily basis. I'll be halfway to the fabled "retirement point" this May, and pretty much every minute of it has been great.
-I'm thankful that I took the time to volunteer to come down to Mississippi and work as an instructor. I'm nearly halfway through my tour here, and it's already the best and most rewarding assignment I've had in the military.
-I'm thankful that I'm a fan of the greatest damn football team in the land, and I couldn't imagine being a fan of anyone else, no matter what this team brings us.
-I'm thankful that the good folks at SBNation have given me the opportunity to run this blog as a service to and to interact with the rest of the greatest fans in the National Football League.
-I'm thankful that six other NFL teams were kind enough to pass on Adrian Peterson so that he could drop right into Minnesota's laps. He practiced yesterday, you know.
-I'm thankful to each and every person out there that's ever visited this site and made it what it is today.
There's a lot more, but I won't bore everybody to death here.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
