Peterson to Be Featured on ESPN

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that RB Adrian Peterson will be featured on both SportsCenter and NFL Live in the coming week as part of a five-part series that ESPN is doing leading up to the season.

The segment will apparently feature Peterson's recent trip back to his home town of Palestine, TX.  The town (population 17,600 or so) threw a parade in Peterson's honor, and this will be featured prominently in the segment.

The segment will air on Wednesday on SportsCenter (not sure which of the 206 daily SC broadcasts it will be shown on first), and Thursday on NFL Live.  The other players that will be featured in the week-long series are Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia, Miami defensive end Jason Taylor, Indianapolis defensive end Dwight Freeney, and San Diego roid monster Shawne Merriman.

I'm surprised that the Eastcoastbias Sports Programming Network has decided to take a little time away from talking about the Yankees (who, at last check, still suck) and Michelle Wie (can someone please call me back when she actually, you know, DOES something?) to do a feature on the 2007 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year like this.  But I'm looking quite forward to seeing it.  AP is a fine, upstanding young football player, and it's nice to see something that deserves it get some recognition.

I've got a big announcement coming either later today or tomorrow. . .not sure which yet.  Viking fans, you're going to want to stay tuned for this one.
