John Randle to Be Inducted Into Minnesota Vikings' Ring of Honor

Now that the main story of the past couple weeks is now officially, totally, and completely someone else's problem, let's get back to talking about a team that will actually be relevant on the NFL landscape in the 2008 season.

The Minnesota Vikings will induct John Randle into the team's Ring of Honor at halftime of their game against the Chicago Bears on 30 November.

Randle is #6 on the all-time NFL sack list with 137, and 114 of those sacks came as a Viking (the rest came with the Seattle Seahawks).  He started in six consecutive Pro Bowls from 1993 to 1998, and led the NFL in sacks in 1997 with 15.5.  He was also elected to the College Football Hall of Fame this year.

Randle signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&I (which is now Texas A&M-Kingsville) in 1990, and played for the Beloved Purple through the 2000 season before moving on to Seattle.

We here at the Daily Norseman would like to congratulate John Randle on an honor that's well and truly deserved

That's all for tonight, folks. . .check back again tomorrow with more Viking goodness.  We'll see you then!
