I've wondered if I should even be posting this, but I think it's best to simply keep people updated, keep the discussing flowing, and let each person decide whether or not to view this as a credible report. Given ESPN's track record, I personally do not. Regardless, here's what they're saying is the latest development in Favregeddon:
In the next few days a Minnesota Vikings trainer and a member of the team's coaching staff intend to travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to work with retired quarterback Brett Favre, a source close to the situation tells ESPN.
The Vikings staffers will be assessing Favre's progress since having arthroscopic surgery to repair a partially torn biceps tendon in recent weeks.
More often than not, when a "source close to the situation" has told ESPN something about Brett Favre, the report has been wrong. Granted, it certainly makes sense that the Vikings would want to observe and assess Favre, so this latest development is quite a bit more believable than Ed Werder's deadline report was, but I'm simply not buying a word that comes out of Bristol, Connecticut anymore. As far as I'm concerned, they've lost their credibility and need to earn it back.
