Just a Quick Update

Hey, all. . .there's not a heck of a lot going on in Viking land, and I'm still working on my write-up of the Wildcat.  Sadly, there are no decent pictures of the Wildcat formation (from an "X and O" perspective) online anywhere. . .the only ones I can find will get distorted and fuzzy as heck if I expand them from their current size.  Sadly, I also have no graphic abilities of my own, so I'm efforting to find a way around this.

We're only about two months from the start of Training Camp, and less than ten weeks from the pre-season opener for 2009.  Thank goodness. . .it ain't easy to find things to write about this time of year, as I'm sure you've all noticed.  Throw in the fact that I'm going to be a bit on the busy side for the foreseeable future, and it's going to be a fun couple of months.

(And, no, there's absolutely, positively no chance of me leaving the site here.  Not now, and not ever.  I built this, and I'll give it up when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.  Not that there were any rumors about me leaving or anything. . .I'm just quashing anything before it even has a chance to get started.  I, like you, am just trying to make it to the season at this point.)

I'm thinking about putting together sort of "Daily Norseman-ictionary" kind of deal for the site.  I've always thought it would be cool for the site to have its own vocabulary of sorts.  Stuff like nicknames for players (the obvious ones and the not-so-obvious ones), different phrases that are commonly heard throughout the Open Threads (like "because that's what Ryan Longwell does"), that sort of thing.  That might actually turn into a FanPost for open discussion on the matter.

I WILL also get to the fourth part of the (slightly less) insanely early look at the Vikings' 2009 schedule.  I realize that I managed to neglect that with the Favre hoopla that started right around the time of the schedule release.  I've also seen at least one fantasy football magazine on the newsstands to go with the proper season previews, so that might be something we get into at some point as well.

The Vegur will be coming tomorrow, and as soon as I can get my look at the Wildcat graphically enhanced, I'll get it up here for everyone's consumption.  Until then, continue enjoying the rest of your Saturday night, ladies and gentlemen!
