In a move that surprises absolutely nobody, restricted free agent defensive end Ray Edwards signed his tender on Monday, giving him a one-year deal with a salary of $2.521 million for the 2010 season.
Had Edwards not signed the tender on Monday, the Vikings would have had the right to rescind the offer and replace it with an offer for 110% of Edwards' 2009 salary.
Edwards really came into his own last year for the Vikings, putting up 8.5 sacks in the regular season, and notching four more in the post-season, including an outstanding three-sack performance against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional playoff round.
The Vikings also signed another one of their draft choices, as fifth-round selection Nate Triplett inked his deal today. Triplett, a linebacker out of the University of Minnesota, did not have the terms of his contract disclosed by the team.
