If you're not checking out Twinkie Town for your daily dose of Minnesota Twins news. . .and, obviously, somebody is, considering that they just crossed the three million hit plateau. . .then you really ought to be. Jesse and the folks over there have done a hell of a job with their coverage of Minnesota Twins baseball, and are technically the oldest Minnesota-based SB Nation site. They got their start back on November 15 of 2005, while we here at DN didn't go live until July 10, 2006.
During the course of this past season, the folks over at Twinkie Town put together a tournament to attempt to determine the greatest baseball movie of all time. (Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though they finished.) Now, I realize that football hasn't lent itself as easily to the silver screen as baseball has for most of American cinematic history, but there are still plenty of great football movies out there, so in the interest of keeping things moving during the off-season, we're going to try to determine the greatest football movie of all time, as far as the readers of The Daily Norseman are concerned.
Now, I'm not entirely sure how to divide the different "brackets" up, or how many movies we're going to go with. . .could be 16, could be 24, could even be 32, depending on how many different movies we can come up with.
I've got a pretty decent list going thus far, but I want everyone to use this to throw out their favorite football movies for discussion and possible inclusion onto the list. Enjoy!
