Well, this is the fourth week that we've given out the Samsung Game Ball of the Week this season, and we already have our first repeat winner. . .though it's hardly a surprise.

Yes, according to you, the fine readers of The Daily Norseman, the Game Ball for this week's 34-10 defeat of the Arizona Cardinals goes to the best running back in the National Football League, Adrian Peterson. On Sunday, AP put up 122 yards on 29 carries, and became the first running back to score three first-quarter rushing touchdowns since Tim Bianca Binaca Biakabutuka accomplished the feat for the Carolina Panthers back in 1999.

After his performance on Sunday, Peterson is now the NFL's second-leading rusher with 498 yards, trailing only Oakland's Darren McFadden in that category. He is also tied for the NFL lead in rushing touchdowns with Arizona's Beanie Wells, with both of those gentlemen having found the end zone six times.

Peterson's win this week was a pretty comfortable one, as he garnered 504 of the 1,036 votes cast (48.6%). Defensive end Jared Allen came in second with 278 votes (26.8%), while his cohort Brian Robison finished in third with 90 votes (8.7%). Jamarca Sanford's first two NFL interceptions got him 79 votes (7.6%), while Chris Cook's performance put him in fifth with 68 votes (6.6%). The other 17 votes (1.6%) wound up in the rather nebulous "other" category.

So, congratulations to Adrian Peterson on winning his second Samsung Game Ball of the Week! Here's hoping that we can have five. . .or more. . .candidates to choose from next week as well.
