Well, this has been fun so far, hasn't it?
Christian Ponder's first pass as a Minnesota Viking was a 72-yard rainbow to Michael Jenkins that looked like it was a touchdown, but Jenkins was ruled out of bounds at the 1-yard line. Two plays later, Ponder had his first ever NFL touchdown pass, as he rolled out to the right and found Visanthe Shiancoe in the back right corner of the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown pass and a 7-0 Minnesota lead.
They didn't stay ahead for long, though, as Green Bay went down the field with little resistance, driving 91 yards in 9 plays and finishing with a 2-yard touchdown pass to John Kuhn.
Both teams have since exchanged punts, with the Packers' punt coming courtesy of a sack by Jared Allen. That sack gives Allen 10.5 on the year and, more importantly, marks his ninth consecutive game with a sack, which sets a new Minnesota Vikings record.
The Vikings then had to punt again, but Packers' rookie Randall Cobb muffed a fair catch attempt and Toby Gerhart jumped on it to put the Vikings at midfield. The Vikings need a couple of breaks today, and that might be the first one.
Adrian Peterson took the ball to the Green Bay 38-yard line on the last play of the first quarter, and that's where the Vikings sit right now, looking at first and ten.
As we get ready to start the second quarter of play, the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers are tied at seven at the Metrodome.
