We're a little less than three hours away from kickoff at the Georgia Dome, so before things get started, let's take one last look back at the injury reports for both teams. We'll start with the Vikings, since they're the road team, and man. . .this one's a doozy.
The name "Adrian Peterson" doesn't appear on this report, but we already know that he's out of this one. Husain Abdullah will be out as well, as his concussion will keep him sidelined for another game. Also definitely not playing will be guard Anthony Herrera.
One move that flew a bit under the radar yesterday was that the Vikings released wide receiver Stephen Burton and brought tight end Allen Reisner up from the practice squad. This tells me that Kyle Rudolph, in all likelihood, isn't playing today, either.
So, it appears that we already know five of the seven names on Minnesota's inactive list for this afternoon. . .Peterson, Abdullah, Rudolph, Herrera, and Chris Cook. That's not a good sign for the Beloved Purple at all.
So, let's move on to the Falcons' injury report, shall we?
The only player that's definitely "out" for the Falcons in this one is cornerback Kelvin Hayden, who will miss this game with a toe injury. From the sounds of things, Baker will likely be held out again, being replaced by Will Svitek.
The big name on the list here is Grimes, who is probably the Falcons' best coverage guy. Granted, with the current state of the Vikings' passing offense, whether they could take advantage of something like that remains to be seen, but him not being out there would help Minnesota's chances a little bit, at least.
And there you have it. . .the final injury report before this afternoon's game. The Game Thread should be up in about an hour or so, and we hope to see you all here for that.
