Well, folks, Christian Ponder isn't going to have to worry about getting chased down by Ndamukong Suh when the Vikings travel to Detroit to take on the Lions on December 11.
Today, the National Football League announced that Suh would be suspended for two games without pay for the stomping incident he was a part of on Thanksgiving Day. The suspension means that Suh will miss Detroit's prime-time game against the New Orleans Saints this coming Sunday as well as the game against Minnesota.
The Lions, who are now in a fight for their playoff lives after looking like they would cruise to a berth early on in the year, can ill afford to lose a player of Suh's caliber. I'm not sure how much more of a chance Suh's absence in a couple of weeks would give the Vikings of pulling off an upset, but it certainly doesn't hurt.
And, as with so many other things, it's not officially news until the folks from Next Media Animation have their say on the matter.
