After listening to excuses for why it's okay for players to take cheap shots at any football player wearing a purple and gold jersey and debating the merits of drafting a player that we likely aren't going to have any shot at selecting anyway, it would appear it's time for an open thread.
For a starting topic, since it is the season and all that, I'll throw out Christmas movies. If I had to do a top 5, in no particular order, it would probably go something like this:
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - Four little words. . ."Merry Christmas! S***ter's full!"
It's A Wonderful Life - Sometimes, the original is still the best.
The Muppets Christmas Carol - It's the Muppets, it's A Christmas Carol. . .really, what's not to love?
Scrooged - Another great quote. . ."I've never liked a girl enough to give her twelve sharp knives."
The Nightmare Before Christmas - A "Christmas movie" that's really good enough to watch any time.
You'll note the omission of A Christmas Story. I don't know if it's the overexposure it's gotten in recent years, but for whatever reason, I just don't think it's a great movie. It's a good movie. . .not a great one.
How about you folks? What movies are you firing up this Christmas?
Or, you know, talk about whatever you'd like. . .it is an open thread, after all.
