Minnesota Vikings Stadium: Deal Now Reportedly A Matter Of "When" Rather Than "If"

Yes, there were originally two stories about the stadium news up here, but we consolidated them into one. So, if you're confused. . .well, don't be. - Chris

You know, I wasn't going to post anything today, but darn it, after the past couple of days. . .heck, after the past couple of years. . .we deserve a little positivity, and this is just the thing.

The link is to Pro Football Talk, but the story is being broken by Peter King of SI.com.

Peter King of Football Night In America reported earlier in the hour (I know this because I was standing right next to him) that the Vikings and Minnesota officials are close to a deal that would keep the team in the state it has called home since entering the league in 1961.

According to King, it’s no longer a question of "if" but "when."

Time became a major factor in recent weeks, because the Vikings are poised to become free agents as of next Sunday, when the Metrodome lease expires following the final regular-season game of the 2011 season.

In the words of latter-day American philosopher Emeril Lagasse. . .BAM!

It took everyone until the last minute to unjam their heads from their posterior openings, but it appears that the heads have, indeed, been unjammed and a deal is going to come to fruition sooner rather than later.

Hopefully there will be more on this in the next couple of days, but for now. . .

Merry Christmas, Vikings fans!

Oh, and for all of you folks out there that thought that "Los Angeles Vikings" was something just incredibly hilarious and unbelievably intelligent, well. . .
