Our pick from last week, Oakland tight end Kevin Boss, unfortunately did not play "like a boss" last week, winding up with only one catch for eight yards. In my defense, nobody told me that the Raiders decided that they were just going to let Sebastian Janikowski handle all the scoring, but never the less, I hope that my pick this week is a bit more fruitful for your team, should you choose to pick him up.
And, you know what? I'm staying home for this one. Yes, I'm going with a member of our own Minnesota Vikings.
Yes, the Denver Broncos are much improved on defense during their recent winning streak, I'll grant you that. But their defense is still susceptible up the middle, and that's why I think Toby Gerhart can redeem himself after a rough week against the Atlanta Falcons. As long as the Vikings don't try to run that stupid stretch play with Gerhart too many times (because the damn thing NEVER, EVER WORKS) and are content to just let him pound away at the middle of the Denver defense, Toby should do alright.
With Adrian Peterson on the shelf and pretty much nothing but Percy Harvin left in the receiving corps at this point, it's going to be up to Gerhart to try to take some heat off of Christian Ponder. I think he rises to the challenge this week. According to Yahoo! Fantasy Football, Gerhart is only owned in 38% of all leagues, so if you could use a boost at running back, I think you'd do alright to add Toby Gerhart to the fold this week.
