Apologies for the delay on this one. . .but I have a really good reason, and I'll explain later.

The third pick of the 2011 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft is in the books, and it did provide us the largest margin between a first and second-place finisher that we've gotten yet. By garnering 188 of the 598 votes cast in the poll, I am happy to announce that. . .

With the third pick in the 2011 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft, the Buffalo Bills select. . .

Marcell Dareus, defensive tackle, Alabama

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert came in second with 164 votes.

So, now we move on to another team that has an issue at the quarterback position, but could go in a number of directions, the Cincinnati Bengals.

The quarterback issue with the Bengals comes from their incumbent quarterback, Carson Palmer. Palmer hasn't been the same quarterback since a knee injury a couple of years back, but is still a pretty good quarterback, in my opinion. However, last season appears to have been significantly more frustrating than normal for Palmer, having to deal with the traveling circus of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, and he has said that he will never play another game for the Cincinnati Bengals. Palmer is under contract to the Bengals for a significant amount of time, so the Bengals pretty much have control of the situation, but if the guy doesn't want to play for the team, who knows what they'll do at this point?

So, depending on how seriously you take Palmer's threats, quarterback might be the top priority for the Bengals. Of course, the fact that both Owens and Ochocinco could both be gone. . .Owens is already gone, and Ochocinco could be following him. . .wide receiver could be a very high priority for them as well. Then again the Bengals, like most teams, could always use more pass rushers, too.

So, with that, the Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock! Who should they select with the fourth overall selection?

Picks Thus Far

Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
Denver Broncos - Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
Buffalo Bills - Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
