Cris Carter's Son To Play Football At Alabama In 2011

Cris Carter took a path to stardom that started at THE. . .dramatic pause. . .Ohio State University, and eventually led him to what should be and hopefully will be a Hall of Fame NFL career. His son, Duron, had hoped to follow in his father's footsteps, and enrolled in Ohio State out of high school. However, Duron's path is taking a bit of a detour.

After having some academic issues at Ohio State, Duron Carter transferred to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas last season, and now plans to enroll at the University of Alabama in June. He will be academically eligible to play for Nick Saban's team immediately after enrolling.

"We just met with Coach [Nick] Saban and he's committed," Cris Carter said. "It's a combination of the coaching and the structure and for Duron's maturity. All of those things make it a good match."

Carter is a pretty big receiver, standing at 6'5" and weighing in at about 210 pounds, and he showed some flashes as a freshman at Ohio State. With Alabama experiencing a pretty significant loss at wide receiver with Julio Jones moving on to the NFL, they're going to need some help at wide receiver in 2011, and if Carter the younger has put his academic troubles behind him, he will certainly be someone that bears watching.
