Bryant McKinnie Asks, "Anyone For Tennis?"

We heard the story going into the off-season that Vikings' left tackle Bryant McKinnie was going to rededicate himself and get into the best shape of his life before the upcoming season. The reaction from many of us. . .myself included. . .was more or less along the lines of "Yeah, right."

But it appears that McKinnie is actually taking this seriously. He just came back from doing some charity work with Adrian Peterson (and a lot of other players) in Africa, and now it appears that he's found a new pastime to shed those pesky extra pounds.

He's playing tennis.

With Venus Williams.

Now, I know that McKinnie has been romantically linked to one of the Williams sisters, but for the life of me I can't remember which one, and the internet hasn't been terribly helpful in helping me to decipher which of them it is. It doesn't make a heck of a lot of difference or anything, really.

McKinnie has often been seen as a player with enormous potential that he's never really quite lived up to. Frankly, if tennis can help him reach that potential, it seems like a pretty good idea to me.
