It's down to eight in the battle to see which NFL superstar will grace the cover of Madden NFL '12, and the NFC North is the only division with two representatives in the final eight.
Adrian Peterson pulled off the upset over top-seeded Philip Rivers on his side of the bracket, winning by a 56%-44% margin, and has moved on to the "Elite Eight" of the Madden cover contest. He now goes head-to-head against the guy that graced the cover of the most recent edition of the game, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints.
The winner of the Peterson/Brees match-up will take on the winner of the match-up between Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Michael Vick (who has also been on the cover of Madden once already) and San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis. The other side of the bracket has Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers going up against New England Patriots' running back Danny Woodhead, and Kansas City Chiefs' running back Jamaal Charles battling it out with Cleveland Browns' running back Peyton Hillis.
So, that gives the NFC North two representatives, one each for the NFC South, NFC East, NFC West, AFC East, AFC West, and AFC North. The AFC South is the only division without a representative in the final eight.
Once again, armed with this knowledge, head on over to the website and vote accordingly. . .whatever you define "accordingly" to be.
