Hey, does everybody remember that glorious. . .what was it, twelve hours or so. . .that the NFL Lockout had been lifted? That was a great time, huh? Christian Ponder getting a copy of the Vikings' playbook, NFL fans everywhere thinking that there was a chance we could have a semi-normal free agent signing period. . .
And, according to Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Leslie Frazier picking up his telephone and speaking to (likely) soon-to-be free agent wide receiver Sidney Rice.
Basically, Rice is "enthusiastic" about a potential return to the Vikings but will explore free agency options, Frazier said
Now, I don't understand this. . .if he's "enthusiastic" about a potential return to the Vikings, why would he need to explore anything else? Let me put it another way.
The guy is eating steak (playing for Minnesota). . .why would he want to try to make the transition to Alpo®?
I sincerely hope that Sidney Rice is "enthusiastic" enough about a return to the Vikings to actually. . .you know. . .return to the Vikings. After seeing what the offense was like last season without him, it sure would be nice to have him around for an entire season in 2011. I'm sure our young quarterbacks, our (basically) new head coach, and our new offensive coordinator feel the same way.
