The experts that thought San Diego would have an easy game seem to be sorely mistaken. The Vikings have come to town and given the Chargers everything they can handle for the first 30 minutes.
The Vikings started the second quarter scoring with a 33-yard Ryan Longwell field goal. The Vikings took a ten point lead on their next drive. Set up by an amazing 46-yard run from Adrian Peterson, Donovan McNabb found Michael Jenkins for each player's first touchdown in a Vikings uniform.
Later in the second quarter, the Chargers had a drive stall out at the Vikings' 25. With kicker Nate Kaeding injured on the opening kickoff, Norv Turner elected to go for it on 4th and 15, which San Diego didn't convert.
The Chargers threatened again just before halftime, but Brian Robison deflected a Rivers pass at the line which Antoine Winfield promptly intercepted. The teams head into the second half with the Vikings up 17-7.
Follow along live as we see if the Vikings can hold on for a huge season-opening win.
