Tampa Bay Buccaneers At Minnesota Vikings - Third Quarter Open Thread

A few halftime numbers for you to ponder. . .

Total yardage:

Adrian Peterson - 86 yards (83 rushing, 3 receiving)
Toby Gerhart - 78 yards (36 rushing, 42 receiving)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers team - 62 yards (39 passing, 23 rushing)
Percy Harvin - 56 yards (48 receiving, 8 rushing)

The Vikings' offense has looked so much improved from their performance last week, and that has carried over to the defense, who has been hitting everything that moves and have already sacked Josh Freeman twice (once by Jared Allen on the first play of the game, and Everson Griffen later on in the half). Tampa Bay, thus far, has only three first downs, and the Buccaneers have yet to run a play in Minnesota territory, while the Vikings have gotten into Tampa Bay territory on all four of their possessions on the afternoon, scoring three times.

Adrian Peterson has two more touchdowns, a 1-yard run and a 9-yard run, and now has 54 for his career, meaning he is in sole possession of the team record for career rushing touchdown. Coming into this one, he was tied with Bill Brown and Chuck Foreman with 52.

The second half of this one is coming up, and the Vikings have a big lead. Can they preserve it better than they did last week in San Diego? Minnesota gets the ball coming out of the locker room, so we will quickly find out.

Join us for the festivities, won't you?
