Vikings At Redskins: Final Injury Reports

While we like to get down on Friday as much as anybody around here, the main thing we look for on every Friday are injury reports. Both teams released their reports earlier today, so let's take a look at them. It's our custom to start with the visiting team, so let's look at the Minnesota Vikings final injury report.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Mistral Raymond S Ankle Out
Marvin Mitchell LB Calf Doubtful
Jerome Simpson WR Back/Foot Questionable
Percy Harvin WR Hamstring Probable
Charlie Johnson OL Back Probable
Adrian Peterson RB Ankle Probable
Christian Ponder QB Knee Probable
Andrew Sendejo S Ankle Probable
Antoine Winfield CB Knee Probable
Everson Griffen DE Non-Injury --
Kevin Williams DT Illness --

In what comes as a bit of a shock, at least to me, is that Everson Griffen is back with the team after the sudden loss of his mother on Wednesday, and plans on playing on Sunday afternoon. Leslie Frazier said that Griffen could take as long as he needed. . .it appears that he decided that a full day was long enough.

Jerome Simpson's status is still up in the air as well. The problem that was causing some numbness in his leg has subsided a bit, according to Leslie Frazier (from the link above), but not quite to the point where they think Simpson is full strength. It appears that he's going to be a game-time decision.

Now, on to the home team, the Washington Redskins.

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Brandon Merriweather S Knee Out
Doug Worthington DE Calf Out
Pierre Garcon WR Foot Questionable
Robert Griffin III QB Head Questionable
Cedric Griffin CB Hamstring Questionable
Barry Cofield DT Shoulder Probable
DeAngelo Hall CB Knee Probable
Evan Royster RB Knee Probable

Outside of the RGIII injury, which we've monitored a bit over here, keep an eye on Garcon. After full participation in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, he was limited in Friday's session. It's sort of looking like Cedric Griffin won't get a shot at his former team at this point. The only people more disappointed about that than Griffin are Vikings fans.

But there you have it, folks. . .the final injury reports going into this Sunday's contest at FedEx Field.
