We've once again happened upon that greatest of all days, that being Minnesota Vikings game day as they get ready to battle the Washington Redskins. The Game Thread will be getting fired up an hour and a half before kickoff, as usual. In the meantime, here is everything you need to know if you're going to be following along via a means other than the greatest Game Thread experience in Vikings football.
(He said humbly.)
Kickoff Time: Like last week, the kickoff time for this weekend's game is 3:25 PM Central time, not the noon Central start that we've gotten accustomed to during the early part of the season. Again, if you sit down at noon and are wondering why there isn't a Vikings game on your television, that's why.
Television Info: We've got us an all-NFC match-up this afternoon, so the festivities will be handled by Fox, and your announcing crew will be Dick Stockton and John Lynch. According to our friends at The 506, the majority of the country will be getting the rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game between the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers, but there are still pockets of America that will be getting this match-up. If you're watching via the NFL Sunday Ticket package, point your DirecTV to Channel 714.
It doesn't appear that anywhere in Canada will be showing this one, but if you're in the United Kingdom, you'll be able to watch the game if you have NFL Game Pass. (Yes, apparently the United Kingdom has an equivalent to NFL Sunday Ticket. Tell me again this isn't the greatest sports league in the world.)
Radio Info: Once again, the Vikings Radio Network will be carrying today's game, coming from the flagship at KFAN-FM 100.3. Check the link for the local affiliate in your area. As far as satellite radio, if you have XM you're stuck with the Redskins feed on Channel 237 (again, XM only has the home team broadcast). If you're on the Sirius side of things, you can listen to the Vikings' feed on Channel 93 or the Redskins' feed on Channel 128.
Weather: There will actually be weather today, what with not being in a dome and stuff, but it doesn't look like anything too major. By the time kickoff comes around, the temperature will be in the low 70s with winds coming from the south/southwest at 12-15 miles/hour.
Just like last week, we'll have an Open Thread here in the stream for everyone to discuss the early NFL action for today. Stay tuned for that, and enjoy your afternoon of football!
