Vikings At Redskins: Second Quarter Open Thread

The Minnesota Vikings have been good on both sides of the ball in the first quarter of play against the Washington Redskins, but have been forced to settle for three Blair Walsh field goals en route to taking a 9-0 lead at FedEx Field.

The first two drives for the Redskins netted them exactly zero yards and an interception from Antoine Winfield, but the Vikings' offense has bogged down in the red zone on all three of their drives. Walsh has hit field goals from 20, 27, and 27 yards thus far, but the Vikings have got to do more to get touchdowns rather than field goals when they get close to the Washington end zone.

Adrian Peterson has already racked up 47 yards on 7 carries in his return to the scene of the proverbial crime (this is where he hurt his ACL last year), and Christian Ponder has been efficient again, completing 8-of-11 for 99 yards.

It's time for the second quarter, folks. . .keep it right here for all the action!
