Buccaneers At Vikings: Final Injury Reports

Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE

Sorry for the lack of activity on my part here, ladies and gentlemen. Been a rough couple of days here on my end, but I'm not about to bore you with that.

In about 24 hours, the Minnesota Vikings will play their second game in five days, as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Metrodome. Both teams have released their final injury reports, and as we like to start with the visitors here, we'll look at the Buccaneers injury report first. Their list is a pretty short one.

Player Position Injury Thursday Status
Brandon McDonald CB Ankle Questionable
Adam Hayward LB Ankle Probable
Vincent Jackson WR Calf Probable
Carl Nicks G Foot Probable
Jeremy Zuttah C Quadricep Probable

All five of the players listed on the Buccaneers' injury report had full participation in Wednesday's practice session. Given that, there isn't really a whole heck of a lot to see here. Keep in mind that the injury report does not include the Buccaneers' top cornerback, Aqib Talib, who is in the middle of his four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse rules and will not be suiting up for Tampa Bay tomorrow night.

The list for the Minnesota Vikings is a markedly longer one, but there isn't a lot to be alarmed about on it, either, and it doesn't contain any real surprises.

Player Position Injury Thursday Status
John Carlson TE Head Out
Mistral Raymond S Ankle Out
Jared Allen DE Groin Probable
Matt Asiata RB Knee Probable
Robert Blanton S Hamstring Probable
Fred Evans DT Knee Probable
Matt Kalil OT Back Probable
Marvin Mitchell LB Calf Probable
Adrian Peterson RB Ankle Probable
Christian Ponder QB Knee Probable
Jerome Simpson WR Back Probable
Harrison Smith S Calf Probable
Antoine Winfield CB Knee Probable

Carlson and Peterson are the only two players on the list that didn't participate at all in Wednesday's practice. Raymond is listed as having limited participation, even though he has already been ruled out of tomorrow's contest. He should be ready to go again when the Vikings travel to play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. Also being listed as "limited" are Allen, Kalil, Smith, and Winfield. Everyone else listed on the above injury report participated fully in Wednesday's practice session.

There you have the final injury reports before the Vikings' lone prime time match-up of the 2012 season. At this point, anyway.
