As has become tradition on Thanksgiving Day, there will be not one, not two, but three football games for your viewing pleasure this afternoon and evening.
The action will start off, as it always does, in the Motor City, as the 4-6 Detroit Lions play host to the 9-1 Houston Texans on CBS. The Lions are coming off of a 34-24 loss to the Vikings last week in Minneapolis, while the Texans are coming off of a thrilling 43-37 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at home. Can the Texans' defense contain Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and the rest of the Lions' offense? We'll find out, starting at about 11:30 AM Central time.
After that, things will move over to FOX at the other traditional location for Thanksgiving football as the Washington Redskins will take on the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are locked in a battle for the top spot in the NFC East, but Robert Griffin III and the Redskins will be looking for the upset. That game will kick off at about 3 PM Central.
The final game of the evening will be on NBC. . .not the NFL Network. . .as the New England Patriots make the short trip to take on the circus that is the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets. For those of you with fantasy teams, keep in mind that Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski is out of this one with a broken forearm, so make adjustments accordingly if you are able.
That's what's on the docket while you're munching your turkey, your pumpkin pie, and all of the impending leftovers. If you want to talk about it with your fellow Vikings fans, this is the place to do it.
