I would like to be the first to declare that ten days is far, far too long to go without Minnesota Vikings football. However, that drought mercifully ends today, as the Vikings will travel to the west coast to do battle with the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon at CenturyLink Field. Here is all the information that you're going to need about how you can follow this afternoon's action.
Kickoff Time: Start time for this one is scheduled for 3:05 PM Central time, not 3:25 like the Vikings' other two later games this season have been. This one isn't a part of a double-header, so there was no need to push the start time back. That means we should have the inactive lists and the first quarter thread fired up by about 1:30 PM or so.
Broadcast Info: This is an all-NFC affair, so the folks from FOX will be handling the festivities today. . .and, unless the Vikings manage to get flexed into a Sunday night spot, I believe all of their games this year will be handled by FOX. Once again, we are stuck with the team of Chris Myers and Tim Ryan, who called the game against the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 7. Eh. . .they did call the last game that the Vikings won. Hopefully something will rub off.
Our Canadian friends will be able to catch this on either CityTV if they're in Winnipeg, Alberta, or British Columbia, or on SportsNet if they're in Ontario. Our compatriots from the United Kingdom will be able to see the game via Game Pass. Our men and women serving overseas will be able to watch this one on AFN Atlantic at 2100Z. That's 2200L in Germany, 0130L Monday morning in Afghanistan, and Monday morning at 0600L in Japan and Korea.
If you're watching this one via the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket package, the game will be on Channel 713.
Radio Info: Once again, the Vikings Radio Network will have you covered for this week's broadcast, so be sure to find the local affiliate in your area. As far as satellite radio, if you're listening on Sirius you're stuck with the Seahawks feed on Channel 231. If you have an XM Radio, the Vikings feed will be on Channel 93, with the Seahawks feed available on Channel 139.
Weather Info: Looks like it could be a bit of a wet one in the Pacific Northwest. There's about a 50/50 chance we'll see some rain during this afternoon's contest, with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s, and the wind coming out of the south at 10 to 15 miles per hour.
We've got some time yet before this one kicks off in Seattle. We'll have an open thread for today's early NFL action here in just a bit.
