The Minnesota Vikings and the St. Louis Rams have released their final injury reports for this Sunday's contest at the Edward Jones Dome, and the report for the Vikings has at least one mild surprise on it, while the status of a couple of the Rams' bigger names remains up in the air.
Since we like to start with the visitors when we do this, we'll look at the Vikings first. Here's their list.
Name | Position | Injury | Sunday Status |
Antoine Winfield | CB | Knee | Questionable |
Jared Allen | DE | Shoulder | Probable |
Robert Blanton | S | Neck | Probable |
Jasper Brinkley | LB | Shoulder | Probable |
Chris Cook | CB | Arm | Probable |
Letroy Guion | DT | Shin | Probable |
A.J. Jefferson | CB | Head | Probable |
Charlie Johnson | G | Ankle | Probable |
Chris Kluwe | P | Knee/Groin | Probable |
Phil Loadholt | OT | Knee | Probable |
Adrian Peterson | RB | Abdomen | Probable |
Kyle Rudolph | TE | Shoulder | Probable |
Winfield has been listed as "probable" on the report for quite a while, as the coaches have been sitting him out in Friday practices to keep him fresh. According to reports, Winfield will play, but his snaps might be limited.
Oh, and don't get excited about seeing Chris Cook as "probable." He can't come back until next week at the earliest. The good news is that it appears that he will, indeed, be back when the Vikings take on the Houston Texans next Sunday.
Now, a look at the injury report for the hosts, the St. Louis Rams.
Player | Position | Injury | Sunday Status |
Jermelle Cudjo | DT | Foot | Questionable |
Danny Amendola | WR | Foot | Probable |
Craig Dahl | S | Head | Probable |
Cortland Finnegan | CB | Ankle | Probable |
Mario Haggan | LB | Elbow | Probable |
Steven Jackson | RB | Foot | Probable |
Janoris Jenkins | CB | Illness | Probable |
James Laurinaitis | LB | Back | Probable |
Mike McNeill | TE | Thigh | Probable |
Scott Wells | C | Knee | Probable |
The Rams have had some injury issues over the past couple of weeks, but it appears that many of their main components are going to play. Amendola has had a litany of injuries (most notably a shoulder injury early in the year), with the foot problem being the most recent. Finnegan, Jenkins, and Laurinaitis all look to be on track to play as well, despite being limited in practice this week. Finnegan and Laurinaitis sat out both Wednesday and Thursday's practices, while Jenkins was absent on Friday.
