Once again, the ground rules for the Game Threads:
-Thou shalt not promote illegal feeds of today's game, or I shall kick thy arse to the curb until the game is over. Thou hast been warned.
-Thou shalt make an attempt to keep the swearing to a minimum. Understandable that it will slip occasionally, but do try to limit it.
-Thou shalt not feed the trolls. Rather, thou shall simply point them out, and they shall be banished to the fires of Mordor. Or Wisconsin. Whichever we feel is more harsh at the time.
-Thou shalt not engage in racist, sexist, or other such insulting rhetoric. Somebody disagreeing with you does not make them racist or sexist. It means they disagree with you. Talk it out like adults.
-Thou shalt not bait the fans of other teams into trolling.
-Basically, thou shalt not be a jackwagon in the game thread.
The Vikings' latest "most important game of the season" is this week in St. Louis. Honestly, if the Vikings don't win this one, there isn't going to be another "most important game of the season," because the last two games won't mean a heck of a lot without a victory this afternoon.
As far as games we're keeping an eye on, the Packers and Bears are locking horns at Soldier Field at the same time as our game is taking place, the Redskins (who are not starting Robert Griffin III at quarterback this afternoon) travel to Cleveland to take on the suddenly-hot Browns, and the Buccaneers are in New Orleans to take on the Saints. Two of the other teams we're watching in the playoff race play in the late games, with the Seahawks taking on the Bills in Buffalo's annual "home game" in Toronto, and the Cowboys playing host to the Steelers.
But, again, it doesn't mean anything unless the Vikings can get out of the Edward Jones Dome with a victory. Can Adrian Peterson will this team to a win? Will Christian Ponder actually not be terrible in this one? Which of these two teams will still have playoff aspirations when it's all over? There's only one way to find out. . .and, hopefully, the result will be the one we want to see.
SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
