This is our seventh Christmas since this site became a part of these vast interwebs of ours, and once again we would like to thank you for making The Daily Norseman a part of your Vikings ritual. Whether you're here every day, every week, or every once in a while, we appreciate your being a part of our community.
I'm guessing that posting is going to be a little scarce today, as the folks that make up the staff will be celebrating the holiday with their family and friends, as I assume most of you are. So, allow me to give you some things for your viewing pleasure while you're taking a break from those things.
Let's start with the greatest Christmas song ever, shall we?
Yes, I love me some Run-DMC. Always have. They don't make 'em like this any more.
And let's not forget what Christmas is all about, either.
There are some folks out there that will appreciate this one. If you're easily offended, you might want to skip this one. I, personally, think it's hilarious.
And let's not forget our men and women serving overseas. . .and, in this case, those of one of our closest allies as well (this was actually made by our friends from the United Kingdom).
Those are the warm-up acts. However, this wouldn't be complete without that most famous. . .or infamous. . .of Christmas videos. Yes, I speak of. . .
The Star Wars Holiday Special
This originally aired on November 17, 1978. It was so terrible. . .so downright awful. . .that to this day George Lucas denies its existence. It was aired once on CBS, was never aired again, and was never released on video or any other medium. Carrie Fisher made Lucas give her a copy of the special in exchange for recording commentary on the Star Wars DVDs. She says she shows it at parties "when she wants people to leave."
Come for the introduction, stay for the song and dance number featuring Bea Arthur and wookies. Everyone should see it once. . .only the truly insane will watch it more than that.

There you go, ladies and gentlemen. As I said, if something breaks during the course of the day, we'll have something for you here, but otherwise there probably won't be a whole lot going on here today.
Merry Christmas to each and every one of you!
