The bloggers of the SB Nation NFL communities took a vote a few days ago to determine who should be recognized with awards as the 2012 NFL season comes to an end. As expected, Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson brought home some virtual hardware, but maybe not the one everyone was hoping he would receive.
The SB Nation NFL bloggers named Peterson the 2012 NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Of the 28 bloggers that voted, including yours truly, Peterson received 21 of them, with New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady receiving three votes, Detroit Lions' wide receiver Calvin Johnson receiving two votes, and the remaining vote going to Denver Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning.
Personally, I voted for Brady. . .and my only reason for doing so was because I gave Peterson my MVP vote, and thought that Brady was having a good enough season to be recognized for something as well. (For the record, Manning got my vote for Comeback Player of the Year. . .again, trying to "spread the wealth," so to speak.)
The article linked above also shares some quotes from some of the SB Nation bloggers about Peterson's prowess. My personal favorite comes from our friends at Buffalo Rumblings, who are kind of starting to see what we have all along.
The only thing vaguely human about Adrian Peterson is the layer of skin hiding his robot parts.
Pretty much, yes.
