Jared Allen Advances In Madden '13 Cover Voting

Jared Allen wrapped up his second consecutive victory in the tournament to see who will grace the cover of Madden NFL 13 when the game comes out this summer. After defeating his teammate, Percy Harvin, in the "play-in" round, Allen found himself matched up against Dallas Cowboys' pass-rushing specialist DeMarcus Ware. It was a relatively close battle, but when the dust settled, #69 found himself in the round of 16 with a 58% to 42% victory over Ware.

Of the four NFC North teams, three of them saw their players move on to the next round. . .and they're all on the same "side" of the bracket. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers defeated Cleveland Browns' cornerback Joe Haden 79-21, and advanced to take on Seattle Seahawks' running back Marshawn Lynch. Detroit Lions' wide receiver Calvin Johnson absolutely stomped Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs to the tune of 92-8, and faces Houston Texans' running back Arian Foster.

The winner of that second match-up will take on either our own Jared Allen or New England Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski, who will go head-to-head in this round. "Gronk" pummeled his new teammate, Brandon Lloyd, by a margin of 85% to 15% in the last round.

The other NFC North representative, Chicago Bears' running back Matt Forte, was the only one of the top sixteen "seeds" (the top eight guys on either side of the bracket) to lose, falling to Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers by a final tally of 62% to 38%.
