Fox Sports football savant Jay Glazer is reporting that the Rams and the Redskins have reached a deal for the #2 overall pick. The Rams will swap first round picks with Washington (Redskins have the #6 overall), and the Rams will also receive two future first round picks and a second round pick.
Glazer is also reporting that the Redskins will use the #2 pick to select Robert Griffin III. This means we can come to a few conclusions with this deal, if it is in fact true:
1) Dan Snyder is the only fantasy football owner who actually got a real team to play with using real money. Oh, and he's a moron. Way too much to give up to take a risk like that. Because if RGIII is a bust, you've screwed yourself for several years before you can fix the problem.
2) Matt Kalil will be available when the Vikings select at #3.
3) If the Vikings don't select Matt Kalil, Rick Spielman is a moron.
This is what we like to call a 'win-win'. The Rams win by getting a ton of picks. The Redskins win if RGIII works out. And the Vikings win by taking away any options other than drafting the best player on the board at one of the highest positions of need for the team.
So I guess that means it's a 'win-win-win', but you get the idea.
